06 Mar Meet Rare Bloom
For Rare Bloom, Aveda’s spring 2015 trend collection, Aveda Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders selected a prairie as the location for its natural beauty, as well as what it means to one of Aveda’s most important initiatives: sustaining the bee population. Native tallgrass prairie is becoming increasingly rare, and so are all the wild bees living and pollinating among its abundance of blooms.
“Sometimes it’s not just about the latest trend—it’s about taking a cue from the natural beauty around you,” Beenders says of the shoot location, Cowling Arboretum at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. “The prairie couldn’t have been a more perfect place for that, blooming with all kinds of interesting wildflowers and buzzing with bees, butterflies and dragonflies.”
This collection also feature the hottest hair color hue right now, Aveda Blonde.
Aveda Freelance Advisor, Sepideh shared her favorite ways to use the new collection.
Tidepool: Aquatic eyes are a huge trend for this season. It wears well on every complexion.
Sheer Peony: This color is a great option for a neutral lip. A soft wash of pink with a little sheen giving the lip a more updated and current look.
Fire Poppy: A beautiful orange-based red that can wear as soft or as bold as you’d like.
Pink Hibiscus: Great hydration and a soft wash of pink. Wear along or pare with any other lip color in the collection.
Dragon Fruit: Pair it with any lip colors in this collection or by itself. Offers great longevity, and a bold pop of color with a beautiful sheen.
Magenta Berry: For the bold girl, use it as a stain or full-on lip color.
Rose Gold: Perfect neutral with a little bit of sheen, also works well as an allover eye color, focus under the brow and inner corner, or even as a cheek highlight.
Coriander: A matte neutral, pairs with beautifully with Rose Gold. Can also be used as a contour color for light to medium complexions.
Indigo Sky: Deep, inky blue. Great for any eye color, mix with transformer for an eye-paint option.
Plumeria: Don’t be afraid to play with this one, to get it soft or as bold as you’re willing to do. This color blends beautifully with all the colors in this collection. Try it as a cheek color as well. Rose colored-eyes are all over spring trends.
