14 Jun Barbering Student Spotlight: D’Angelo
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO ENROLL AT THE AVEDA INSTITUTE MADISON?
I’ve been cutting hair for a long time, but wanted to become a professional. I have a passion for cutting hair and wanted to freedom to create and be creative. I also wanted more knowledge of the industry.
WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN YOUR PROGRAM SO FAR?
The skills that make the difference between this being a profession and a hobby. I have also learned a lot about the art of precision cutting. The experience of being a student at this point in my life has been very positive and exciting.
I would love to open my own shop or become an educator one day.
WHAT IS A PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT COMING TO THE AVEDA INSTITUTE MADISON AND JOINING THE BEAUTY/WELLNESS INDUSTRY?
It’s more than just barbering. You learn so much more than men’s haircutting. You learn facials, waxing and woman’s hair as well as the business side of the industry as well.
WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU THE MOST SINCE STARTING YOUR PROGRAM IN MARCH?
That I would actually be looking forward to doing women’s color.
