06 Oct Our 2016 Breast Cancer Partner: ABCD
Aveda Madison has teamed up with local organization ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis to offer special services, promotions and events throughout the month of October, donating all proceeds to the charity.
The mission at ABCD is to provide free, personalized information and one-to-one support to people in eastern Wisconsin who are affected by breast cancer. While science searches for a cure, ABCD complements the work of health care providers by serving as a reliable, accessible and highly personalized resource for breast cancer patients and their loved ones.
ABCD trains volunteers to be Mentors and then matches them with people diagnosed with breast cancer and their families and loved ones. A Mentor keeps in touch with the participant by phone throughout the treatment process, providing information on local and national resources, and perhaps most important, the support of someone who’s “been there.” ABCD also operates the Breast Cancer Helpline, the only such telephone helpline in Eastern Wisconsin.
